Over 40 years’ experience.

For over 40 years Chris has been advising and managing a variety of clients with diverse needs, including business owners, busy professionals and family groups. Chris has built up a wealth of knowledge over the years and relays this information in plain English to “keep it simple” and enjoys developing strategies to assist clients build and protect their wealth.

Chris is an associate member of the Financial Planning Association, dedicated to providing professionalism within the industry.
Chris and his wife Sue love to travel, and also spend quality time with family and three wonderful grandchildren.

Associate Adviser

We would like to welcome Matthew Choat to the Aspire Wealth & Protection team.

As part of our current professional development program, Matthew is training to become part of our advice delivery team to become a Qualified Financial adviser.

Matthew brings with him qualifications and experience in Applied Finance, Social Science, Psychology, Business Management and Behavioural Economics.  

Working closely with Chris and the Aspire team, Matt is here to assist you with all your enquiries.

As part of his professional year of studies and training, Matthew is undertaking supervised work and training in a Professional Year Program in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001 subsection 921B(4). Training activities as part of this program include observing and conducting client meetings, researching, and developing advice strategies as well as documenting and implementing advice recommendations.

We are excited for Matthew in taking these important steps to further his career and we hope you will join us in wishing him the best in his studies and career at Aspire Wealth & Protection.

Martine Shaw

Investment Analyst

Martine has 24 years’ experience in global wealth management and international private banking, having previously worked at Ord Minnett, JP Morgan and Investec Bank in Sydney, London and Switzerland.

Martine started as a Paraplanner, Analyst and Account Manager at Ord Minnett and JP Morgan, before joining the Private Advisers team at Investec Bank in Sydney as Private Client Manager. She then worked in European Wealth Management in London and Switzerland, as an Investment Adviser and Senior International Private Banker as well as Co-Chairperson of Investec`s European Investment Committee for 10 years. Martine returned to Australia in 2011 and re-joined Ord Minnett as an Associate Adviser and Account Manager advising large wholesale charitable/not-for-profit and religious organisations for the past 8 years.

 

Cheryl Welling

Paraplanning Partner

Cheryl is our dedicated external paraplanner that we go to in order to prepare our Financial Plans (Statement of Advice) ensuring that each plan is compliant and is tailored to our clients’ goals and objectives.

Cheryl has many years’ experience working with the Aspire financial advisers and has the knowledge and technical ability to understanding the complexity of each client’s individual needs.

Sue Hale

Accounts Manager

Supporting clients since 1985.

Sue began working in the family business with Chris in 1985 and has worked together through different administrative roles within the business.

Sue is now currently responsible for Accounts and payroll
throughout Aspire Group. 

 

Kristy Taporco

Administration Support

As part of the Aspire team Kristy works with the entire team and the Financial Advisers to ensure that clients receive the best possible service from Aspire Wealth & Protection.

With a background in customer service and telecommunications, Kristy’s operations and client service experience is extensive, and she takes great pride in ensuring she provides a friendly, efficient, and competent service for Aspire’s clients.

Kristy obtained her Degree in Elementary Education in 2018 Mindanao State University and has had excellent experience working with large customer service and telecommunications businesses.

In her spare time, Kristy loves playing chess and other online games.  Kristy also enjoys outdoor activities such as exploring beaches and climbing mountains. 

Estelle Lopez

Client Services Officer

Excellence in customer service.

Estelle has been a part of the Aspire family for several years; assisting financial advisors with administering all aspects of client accounts.
She is originally from sunny California and moved to beautiful Australia just over 13 years ago.

Estelle handles back-office operations for the business allowing our advisers to do what they do best and that is spend more time with our client’s.
Estelle has a great positive attitude, striving for professionalism, accuracy and exceptional service.

Thara Daguman

Financial Planning Assistant

Thara’s current role involves assisting our advisers with processing and maintenance of our day-to-day administration tasks, preparing client reviews and detailed research to support our advisers.

Thara also lodges new investment and insurance applications ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service from Aspire.

When she is not at work, Thara enjoys going on an adventure with her family and friends, watching beautiful sunsets, trying out new restaurants and watching movies.
